A 2018 commission from Dr Edward Wickham, director of music at St. Catharine's College, Cambridge, this rather austere carol for upper voices takes Thomas Ravenscroft's original melody and completely resets it in counterpoint.

In a pleasing bit of history repeating itself, from 1594 to 1600 Ravenscroft was almost certainly a Vicar Choral at St. Paul's Cathedral, a position Roy Rashbrook holds now!
